Como Zoo Adveture Pt. 2

The last of the Como Zoo photos. This time it's all the plants and some architecture. One of my favorite parts of this zoo is the Conservatory. It's beautiful. I didn't get a chance though to walk around the Japanese Garden outside. Next time. 

I got some great garden fresh veggies from my boss's today. Summer squash and zucchini. The zucchini didn't last me too long, I made some great zucchini fritters tonight that I've been eyeing for a little while now. I shall share the recipe soon. 

Tuesday Tunes: Gone a Lil Country

Country music reminds me of summer. Kind of like how jazz reminds me of Christmas. These are probably 3 of my favorites at the moment. And yeah, Jason Aldean and Ludacris may be a goofy collaboration, but I really like that version.

Como Zoo Adventure Pt. 1

First part of the Como Zoo photos. These are of the animals. Later this week I'll post the plants/flowers. The polar bear photo is my favorite. I have such a love/hate relationship with zoos. Love seeing the animals, hate seeing them locked up.

Cucumber Citrus Infused Water

I saw a post on A Beautiful Mess that had recipes for infused water. One that definitely intrigued me was the cucumber and lemon one. When I worked at DK all I drank was water because of the handy water/ice machine. Now I'm trying to get back into drinking more water again. But sometimes plain water gets boring. I had some lemons and lime sitting around so when I went to pick up a few groceries I grabbed a cucumber too.

So I'm sure you're thinking, cucumber flavored water? Ummm...gross, right? Don't knock it 'til you try it. It's delish.

This week look forward to photos from my adventure into the Cities from this weekend, another new recipe (or two), and some tunes.

Just a couple of songs that came on my iPod while I went for a run that made the time go by faster. It's been awhile since I've posted any tunes. Have to keep a good stash of upbeat stuff for when the sudden urge to go for an evening run emerges. 

Tim Sale: Artwork of Heroes

This is some of Tim Sale's artwork from Heroes. A huge part of the concept in Heroes is Issac Mendez's paintings and comic book, The 9th Wonders. Mendez's gift is his ability to paint/draw the future. These are all from the first season.

Sale is quite the artist who does a lot of comic book work as well. He also happens to be colorblind.

I have a great love for ampersands. I'm not entirely sure why. I think it's because every other character of a typeface general has the same shape, you can always predict what it will look like. With ampersands there are all sorts of them.
